The speaker this year is Edwin Buckhalter, publisher of Mike Ripley’s Campion books.
Attendance at the AGM is free. The cost of the lunch is £40 per person, payable in advance. Members are welcome to bring friends and family.

WINTER LUNCH 2019: 23 November
Provisionally we expect to meet at the same venue as last year. More details will follow when finalised.
WEEKEND CONVENTION: 12 to 14 April 2019
Members of the Society gathered for a weekend convention at the Holiday Inn, Colchester. Highlights of the weekend included a visit to the Allingham Archive held at the University of Essex in Colchester and a guided tour of D’Arcy House and gardens, Margery’s home in Tolleshunt D’Arcy for most of her writing career.
WINTER LUNCH: 1 December 2018
This year’s lunch was held on 1 December at The Union, Sheldon Square, London – a new venue, which proved very popular.
A CELEBRATION OF 30 YEARS OF THE SOCIETY AND 80 YEARS SINCE THE PUBLICATION OF A FASHION IN SHROUDS: 20th October 2018
The Society held a talk by Barry Pike on A Fashion In Shrouds followed by lunch at the Concert Artistes Association, 20 Bedford Street, London WC2E 9HP.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING AND LUNCH: 5th May 2018
The Guest Speaker was writer and historian Ruth Dudley Edwards.
Ruth’s crime fiction is noted for its satirical tone. Her recent novel, Killing The Emperors, set in the art world, won the Goldsboro Last Laugh Award in 2013. Her non-fiction book, Aftermath: the Omagh Bombing and the Families’ Pursuit of Justice, published in 2012, was named the Sunday Times Current Affairs Book of the Year and won the Crime Writers’ Association Gold Dagger award for non-fiction. Ruth is a member of The Detection Club and was one of the co-authors of its recent publication, The Sinking Admiral.
